Shaheen Majeed, global CEO and managing director of Sabinsa, has received an honorary doctorate in research and innovation from the University of Mysore, at the University’s 105^th annual convocation in Mysuru, India.

“Your accomplishments and achievements in the field of nutraceutical ingredient industry have been well appreciated and noteworthy, and you have been recognized as a global leader in the concerned fields,” wrote N. K. Lokanath, professor and vice chancellor of the University of Mysore. “Recognizing your rich contributions in the field of clinical studies, regulatory standards, and guiding numerous studies in the field of education, the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka and Chancellor of the University of Mysore, Mysuru has pleased to confer the Honoris Causa (D.Litt.) of the University of Mysore.”

“This recognition stands as one of the most meaningful moments of my life, and I am deeply humbled,” Majeed said. “To be honored by one of India’s most esteemed universities was profoundly inspiring, and I am committed to upholding the values it represents. I fondly recall the days when my father took me into rooms where he engaged in discussions with scientists. Being immersed in the company of such brilliant minds and soaking up their knowledge has shaped my journey in ways I never could have anticipated.”

University of Mysore was established in 1916, and is the sixth oldest university in the country, and the first established outside of British administration. It has 122 affiliated colleges and five constituent colleges.
